4. Drink plenty of water.

Cold water can give you a soothing and refreshing feeling. Plus, it flushes out the acid that has gathered in the throat or esophagus; again, a reminder not to put too much ice in it.

5. Chew some gum.

If you don’t have water in sight, you may want to chew on some gum. When you do that, you’re promoting the production of saliva, which can flush out stomach acid and gastric juices.

6. Take in some antacid.

Another alternative for is to take an antacid. This comes in pill or capsule form, and they are readily available as OTC drugs at any drug store and pharmacy.
